Penny Press Machine is on the main floor of the Hoffstadt Bluffs Visitor Center,
along with the
restaurant, gift shop, bookstore, & glass-blowing studio.  
Hoffstadt also offers panoramic viewpoints, helicopter rides, picnicking sites,  
parking, rest rooms and photo displays of the 1980 volcanic eruption of Mount
St. Helens.

Helicopter Tours:  Departing from Hoffstadt Bluffs Visitor Center, fly over the
blast zone, to the crater, and marvel at the volcanic devastation, elk herds,
ghost forests, and growing lava dome.   You could spend the entire day hiking
the Mount St. Helens Monument and not see the sights seen on this
breathtaking helicopter tour in our 4 passenger Bell Jet Rangers operated by
Hillsboro Aviation, the Northwest’s leading helicopter operator.    Walk-ins

The spectacular Forest Learning Center offers some of the best exhibits on the
highway.  A partnership between Weyerhaeuser, Washington Department of
Transportation, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation the center is one of
the two "must see" locations on the highway along with the Johnston Ridge
Observatory.  For more visitor information about the center please

Mt. Saint Helens and the devastated, but rapidly recovering Toutle River
Valley, form a spectacular, panoramic backdrop to the Mount St. Helens Forest
Learning Center, which overlooks the volcano’s massive landslide which
devastated everything in its path in the valley below in the 1980 eruption.  In
the spring up to 500 elk can be seen grazing on the mudflow below.
